Kim's Florida Environmental Voting Guide
Hi Friends!
Voting is one of the best ways that we can push back on the developers and special interests trying to pave over Florida. We have an amazing chance to turn the tide this year with elections especially for the Florida House and Senate, where most of the most destructive overdevelopment bills are coming from. Florida Governor, Attorney General, and Agricultural Commissioner are also important positions that can dramatically alter the trajectory of conservation. With better candidates in office, we could more easily block the bad bills and get bills passed to protect natural land, rural land, habitats, wetlands, green space, the FL Wildlife Corridor, fund programs like Florida Forever, and more.
The elections are on November 3rd. I recommend voting early or by your mail-in-ballot, if you have one.
I will update this blog with more info and candidates as I go. Let me know which candidates to include!

In general, I urge you to choose the Democrat on you ballot. Why?:
I'll be frank, while support for environmental issues is bi-partisan and many candidates on both sides of the isle do support good enviro legislation, far too many Republican candidates vote against the environment. We have had a Republican majority in the Florida House, Florida Senate, and other state positions for decades, and their policies have led to defunding land conservation programs, and bills that accelerate environmental destruction.
