About the painting:

2019. Bonneted Bats are an endangered species native only to pine rocklands of south Florida (around Miami) and are considered one of the most endangered mammals in the US. With the loss of habitat and their old tree roosts, these bats now find a home in roofs with Spanish tiles or in large bat houses made especially for them. The references for the faces come from Into Nature Films!
