Kim Heise uses her love of nature to create paintings and mixed-media installations in monotype, watercolor and etching. She dedicates her work to the education about, and conservation of, Florida wildlife and habitat. Shortly after received her BFA in painting from Florida Atlantic University in 2014, she received second place for her work in "Endangered: Art for Apes" at the Miami Club Rum Gallery in Miami (FL). In 2015 she was awarded a Friedland Project Grant for the creation of work about the south Florida pine rocklands ecosystem. in the support of conservation, she also worked with the South Florida Wildlands Association, the Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition, and as a member of the Viridis Art Collective. She works as the STEAM instructor at the Boys and Girls Club of Boca Raton and creates tirelessly making frequent trips to natural areas throughout the state where she gets the inspiration for her work.
